UCI CycleFest Directors with special guests Wendell Sailor and Chris Lynn

The UCI Legends CycleFest Breakfast was held this morning at The Waves with special guests – batting sensation and cricket legend Chris Lynn and one of Queensland’s favourite sons, rugby league star Wendell Sailor.

CycleFest Executive Director Jason Templeman said it was a great event.

“The Legends Breakfast is our way of acknowledging those sponsors and businesses that support us,” Jason said.

“Without this support we cannot run events of this calibre in our region so this is our way to say thank you.

“Wendell and Chris were the highlight of the morning and entertained us with their cricket and rugby league tales.

“Both men acknowledged regional areas and the importance of sport and it was a great way to get an insight into their career pathways.“

After the excitement of UCI Legends CycleFest Breakfast, the focus is back on the track and velodrome with UCI CycleFest races kicking off at 4.30pm this afternoon.

“We encourage Bundaberg residents to come out and support the UCI CycleFest and get a feel what cycling is all about.

“You don’t have to be a cycling enthusiast to appreciate the calibre of Australian and international cyclists that we have competing right here in Bundy.

“Some of these names will be competing in the next Olympics and we have the opportunity to watch them race in our own backyard.”
