Bundy physiotherapist joins Nitro Circus tour

Nitro Circus
Shaun Lynch from Coral Coast Physiotherapy has been named as the Nitro Circus physio for their Australian tour.

A Bundaberg physiotherapist is switching his weekends for life in the fast lane with Nitro Circus as he takes part in their current “You Got This” Australian Tour.

Shaun Lynch from Coral Coast Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic scored what he says is a role of a lifetime as the Nitro Circus team’s personal physiotherapist.

The local man said the opportunity came about after having worked with a professional sportsman last year.

“One of my passions is action sports so I was lucky to work with our local professional freestyle motocross rider Clinton Moore last year,” he said.

“Through that and some networking opportunities we were able to land this gig with Nitro Circus.”

Shaun will be on tour with the show every weekend over the next six weeks, looking after some of the world’s most passionate extreme sport athletes.

He has already completed one show, working alongside world-class daredevils who are all on top of their game in FMX, BMX, skate, scooter and everything in between.

“I'll be flying out every weekend to the different shows which spread from South Australia all the way up to Mackay,” Shaun said.

“These athletes perform at a very high standard and I have already picked up some great skills that I can utilise in my practice here.”

Shaun said the dream role had him testing skills and working on a range of different injuries the athletes came across during their daredevil stunt shows.

“The injuries range from everything; it could be a burn or abrasion to very severe concussion to spinal fractures,” he said.

“There is always something to learn.”

Shaun will even have the chance to work alongside Nitro Circus in Bundaberg when the show comes to the Bundaberg Recreational Precinct on 28 March.

He said the opportunity to practice in his field of passion was something everyone could achieve by completing the hard yards.

“I would like to give a shout out to my workplace who have been very supportive- particularly Ben Heidenreich,” he said.

The big thing I want other people to realise is if you have a passion and you work hard enough, you can achieve whatever you want to achieve.”
