RealWay Bundaberg Principal Brent Illingworth has been recognised as Rate My Agent Bundaberg Agent of The Year and is listed in the top 100 agents in Australia.

When it comes to selling homes, Brent has a passion for taking care of both the seller and the buyer, and he prides himself on his honest practices.

Brent started his career in real estate 15 years ago, and he says the current housing market in the Bundaberg Region is at one of the busiest points since 2007.

“The housing markets is going berserk presently,” he said.

“I’ve been in real estate since 2005, and the market now is as busy as it’s been since late 2007 or possible even earlier on.

“There is so much interest in our region from external buyers and a very healthy amount of transactions internally as well. We simply cannot keep up with buyer demand.”

Brent said he was honoured to win the Rate My Agent’s Bundaberg Agent of the Year for the second time in a row, and with the current marking “going nuts” the timing was perfect.

“Winning awards, of all varieties, always gives me the warm and fuzzies – but that’s not why I am a real estate agent,” he said.

“I sell property to help, and to meet, people.

“I’ve always been a ‘people person’, so the industry attracted me.”

A team effort to win Agent of the Year

Brent said of all the awards he had won during his real estate career, taking home these awards were most satisfying.

RealWay Bundaberg Principal Brent Illingworth has been recognised as Rate My Agent Bundaberg Agent of The Year and is listed in the top 100 agents in Australia.

“RateMyAgent have found the perfect platform to ensure moral and ethical real estate practices are highlighted,” he said.

“They allow direct honest feedback from the people involved – not the spruiking agent.

“Agency of the Year means just as much to me – if not more – than the individual accolades.

“Our team is likeminded, and I take great pride in selecting high quality people to train up as RealWay representatives.

“Shane Chung has worked for us for near-on a decade now and always does the right thing by people, which is now providing him some special returns for his efforts.

“Anthony (Williamson) has come out of the gates flying in his relatively short real estate career, but has a grasp on what it means to be a good person, not just a good agent.

“So, to see these guys rewarded as individuals and contribute to the office winning, along with our other sales person – Gary Martin, really makes me smile.

“Owning a small business is hard work but good staff make it worth every second.”

Brent’s helpful hint for those wanting to sell

“As always, the biggest pointer I can give potential sellers is to do your research, and not just who sells the most,” he said.

RateMyAgent, realestate.com.au, Google are all great ways to find out if the agent you’re selecting isn’t just capable, but also has sound morals and values that resonate with you.

“In a physical sense about the house itself more directly, present it well. I’ve seen similar homes sell for tens of thousands of dollars more purely thanks to presentation.”
