Work is under way to upgrade the Isis Highway, Kingston Town Way and Nicholl Road intersection at Branyan.

Construction work has begun to upgrade the Isis Highway, Kingston Town Way and Nicholl Road intersection at Branyan.

The State Government allocated $576,000 under the Safer Roads Sooner Program to improve safety along this section of the Isis Highway.

The Safer Roads Sooner program provides funding on a priority basis to high-benefit, cost-effective projects that address both known and potential high severity crash sites on state-controlled roads.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads says construction will take about three weeks to complete, weather permitting.

RoadTek will deliver the works, which will occur between 6am and 6pm, Monday to Friday.

Branyan intersection works

  • Installing dedicated right turning lane into Kingston Town Way from the Isis Highway
  • Installing a dedicated right turning lane into Nicholl Road from the Isis Highway
  • Widening the shoulder of the Isis Highway to provide more space for vehicles turning left into Nicholl Road.

During construction nearby residents can expect temporary noise and some dust impacts.

Kingston Town Way will be closed for up to three days, which is expected to be from 16 November 2020, conditions permitting.

During this time traffic will be detoured via Palomino Avenue.

Motorists can expect some delays if travelling during work hours and are reminded to observe all warning and traffic control signage when approaching the works site and be aware of changed conditions.

The department thanks the local community for its patience and support while the intersection improvements are completed.
