Travel bloggers Graeme Ryder and Dixie Lamers have spent years touring Australia but when it came to finding somewhere to settle Burnett Heads topped the list.
The couple share their travels with almost 18,000 Facebook followers through their blog Aussie Caravanning Lifestyle.
They’re relocating from Coffs Harbour to Burnett Heads’ new RV Lifestyle Village and haven’t looked back.
Dixie said the couple had done their “due diligence” before decided the Bundaberg Region was the best place to call home.
“This has got everything that we need, the hospitals, the doctors, shopping,” Dixie said.
“All the lovely fresh produce everywhere,” she added.
“We just like the country feel that it gives us as well.”
Graeme enjoyed the climate of the area as well as the nostalgia Burnett Heads offered with its seaside charm.
“It reminds me so much of the coastal villages that I grew up in when I was much smaller – when I had hair,” Graeme joked with his customary humour.
“We are so close to Bundaberg with all the services and facilities that are there.
“And if we have to go to Brisbane, it's not very far away.”
The region has also proved to be a handy launching pad for their Aussie Caravanning Lifestyle travel blog with recent posts about the local area proving popular.
In particular Dixie said their followers had been interested in a recent post about Childers.
“We decided to go and spend a day in Childers and we loved it, absolutely loved it,” she said.
“[The post] absolutely went crazy, it just went wild.
“It's probably the biggest post with engagements and comments and shares that we've ever had.”
After settling in to their new home the pair is planning to continue their Aussie Caravanning Lifestyle adventures.
