Lions Worldwide helps millions of people but right now, Hinkler Lions would like your help.
The local club operates a shower and laundry service for the homeless community of Bundaberg.
“Our trailer and light truck we have to tow the trailer have ongoing running costs, including registration, insurance and fuel for the truck-trailer and generator,” Hinkler Lions Club member Bill Prime said.
“With the restrictions of COVID our normal fundraising has dried up.”
Bill said the truck to tow the trailer was presently broken down and repairs would stretch funds to the limit.
“The trailer is currently being towed by members of private vehicles, hence why we are asking for the community to help,” he said.
“If you are willing to save and donate your recyclable bottles and cans we are willing to come and collect them from you.
“If you are willing to help out by dropping them off at A.B.C Recycling in Victoria Street, Bundaberg East, and quote recycle number C100 300 48, the funds will go directly to Hinkler Lions Club.”
