The team at Bargara Brewing Company have created a delicious pot pie recipe featuring their popular Rusty Roo red ale.
A perfect dinner option for the cooler weather.
- Olive Oil
- Beef stew meat, diced
- Plain flour
- 2 golden potatoes, diced
- 2 carrots, peeled and diced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves. minced
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 chopped parsnip
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 bottle of Rusty Roo
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 milk brush
Heat oil in the pan and turn on slow cooker.
Toss beef together with salt, pepper and flour.
Add beef to pan and toss until brown.
Add chopped potatoes, carrots, parsnip, onion, garlic and tomato paste to the slow cooker.
Add browned beef, broth and beer and stir to combine together.
Cook for 3 to 4 hours on high, add salt and pepper to taste.
Portion into pie dishes, add 1 pastry lid to each and brush lid with milk.
Cook in oven until pasty lid is golden.
Serve pot pie with chosen beer.
