As the first event of its kind, the Shine Bright Festival is bringing together local artists to perform and exhibit at a special Friday session at the Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery park next month.

The cross-regional festival will be celebrated across 14 diverse regions, from as far north as The Whitsundays, down to the South Burnett and out west to the Central Highlands.

The evening will feature a program of live performance and visual art, dance, live music, exhibitions and projection artwork to bring the gallery and park to life.

The projection art showcases seven artists from across Queensland, with Bundaberg artist Marlies Oakley involved in creating the animated collaborative digital artwork that will be projected at the event.

Regional Arts Service Network Project Officer at Central Queensland Regional Arts Services Network (CQRASN), Trudie Leigo explained that this is a great initiative to showcase local artists from across the region.

“It is important for us to employ artists in the region, such as Marlies and showcase their talent to the community whilst celebrating their fantastic work,” Ms Leigo said.

“Everything that is on display and performed at the event is original, including bands who will not be performing any covers but instead originals produced over the past year.”

Catch up with friends for a Friday drink from the bar and kick-start your weekend vibe by immersing yourself in the arts.

There will be a paid bar and food available for purchase.

The Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery is a proud partner and host of the event, in partnership with the Bundaberg Regional Council.
