The team behind The Laneway on Woongarra are hosting their first handmade markets tomorrow night, providing the opportunity for local creatives to showcase their products.
Stephanie Partridge, who runs her hair salon out of The Laneway, said since hosting the preloved markets this year the team noticed handmade and locally made products weren’t on offer anywhere else in Bundaberg.
“These markets are a flow on effect from the preloved markets that have been run by Alexa from Wonderland Movement,” Stephanie said.
“We saw the opportunity with a niche in the market for handmade items and this idea came to life.
“While we say handmade this also incorporates a range of other local items as well.”
The markets are the first of its kind for The Laneway and Amanda Gear from Amanda Gear Make Up and Brow Artistry said the team would look to continue the event in the future should there be demand.
“If there is enough of a calling for markets like these and things go well then we would definitely like to keep these going,” Amanda said.
“Spots are open for people across the region, not just from Bundaberg, so we encourage people from the smaller towns around the region to attend also.”
There are currently 18 stallholders, but two spots are still remaining with enough space for 20 stalls in The Laneway.
Products on offer at the markets will include candles, earrings, dried flower arrangements, artworks, cakes and cookies.
The markets start at 5.30pm and are open until 7.30pm.
