Bundaberg hairdressing salon The Place will go head-to-head with some of Queensland’s best hairdressing businesses after being named a finalist in the Australian Hair Industry Awards.
Owner Kira-Lee Honor said it was the first time the business had entered the prestigious awards and she was extremely proud of her team.
As the only regional salon to be named a finalist in the State Salon Business of the Year Queensland category, Kira-Lee said it was a privilege to be listed along some of the best in the hair industry.
The competition will be tough as The Place competes against previous Salon Business of the Year Queensland winners Rokstar and Epic Hair Design.
“We are going up against some of the best hairdressers in Queensland,” Kira-Lee said.
“To be named alongside Oscar Oscar Salons and Epic Hair Design has really blown us away.
“To be in the same category as well-known hairdressers like Brodie from Rokstar and Amy from Urban Chic, these are some of Queensland’s best, it’s really amazing.”
Kira-Lee said to qualify as a finalist, The Place had to tick the boxes in customer experience, team culture and business operation.
She said there was more than 100 submissions in the State Salon Business of the Year Queensland category, and The Place made it to be named in the top 12 finalists.
For 16 years, The Place has been providing the Bundaberg community with top quality hairdressing after Kiralee opened the salon as a teenager.
Now the boutique salon employees 15 staff.
The Australian Hair Industry Awards will be presented at a gala evening in November.
