Police to hold Rural Property Forum in Avondale

South Kolan officers Officer in Charge Sergeant Matthew Swan and Senior Constable Larissa Dent will be at the forum.

Local police officers will be hosting a forum in Avondale soon to address rural property crime in the area.

According to a QPS spokesperson, the forum would be open to the community on Tuesday, 7 December from 6.30pm at Tegege Hall.

“Due to an increase in rural property crime over the past few months we are holding a forum at Tegege Hall which is open to all residents in the surrounding area,” the spokesperson said.

“Guest speaker will be Detective Sergeant Mark Ferling from Major and Organised Crime Squad in Kingaroy.

“You will also have the opportunity to meet local South Kolan officers Officer in Charge Sergeant Matthew Swan and Senior Constable Larissa Dent.”

The spokesperson said a range of topics would be covered in the information session including:

  • Firearms security and renewals
  • Weapons Licensing
  • Property and home security
  • Drones

There will also be a Q and A session featured at the forum.

The event will be held at Tegege Hall, which is located at 17 Bushs Road, Avondale.
