For more than 20 years friends and families have flocked to Woodgate Beach to enjoy a long weekend and visit the Woodgate Easter Fair.
Community members can take in the friendly coastal atmosphere and enjoy Easter Monday browsing a variety of market stalls while listening to live music and eating delicious food.
Woodgate Community Events marketing co-ordinator Traci Osborn said Woodgate Easter Fair had evolved during it 20-plus year history.
“The Woodgate Rural Fire Brigade originally started doing the fair, but as it got bigger it was then handed over to Woodgate Tourism, and finally into the events calendar with Woodgate Community Events,” she said.
“This fair is the perfect family fun day out!
“With over 150 stallholders, a side show alley, delicious food, live music – there is bound to be something for everyone!”
Take in the sights while visiting Woodgate Easter Fair
Traci said Woodgate Easter Fair was an opportunity for people who had not visited the area before to take in the sights over an extended weekend away.
“When you’ve had enough, and want to relax a little, just wander over the road and put on your togs and go for a nice relaxing swim,” she said.
“Nothing gets your appetite working better than a swim, then just wander back over the road and have something delicious and decadent for lunch. Now that is paradise.
“You can go for walks in the National Park, wander up the beach at low tide, go fishing, or just relax and read your book, while the kids make sandcastles.”
Traci said for those community members who were keen to get in early to pick a gift for Mother’s Day the market was a great opportunity to find something unique to spoil her with.
“With the market on the oval, there will be plenty of space to wander around and look at all the wonderful stalls,” she said.
“Bring your hat and some sunscreen, wear some comfortable shoes and come along and join in the fun.
“Even your friendly fur baby is welcome but needs to be on a chain and you will have to clean up after it.”
Woodgate Easter Fair will be on the Easter Monday, 18 April from 7.30 am until 2 pm.
