Reggie is a one year old English Pointer cross Bull Arab who is looking for his forever home, available for adoption from RSCPA Bundaberg.
As he is still young, Reggie is looking for an enthusiastic, kind, understanding and patient new guardian who can commit to helping him through some challenges that he is facing.
He is a dog full of energy, with a big heart and potential.
The kennel environment is not the best place for him and he struggles to cope with it.
He is an under socialised dog who has spent most of his life in a backyard with very little human interaction.
With this in mind, he is now on a journey to learn how best to behave in certain situations and he is currently working with a trainer and is proving to be quite smart.
He has lived with another dog in the past and enjoyed its company.
He can, however, be choosy about who he calls his friends and so if you already share your life with a sociable dog, a meet and greet with Reggie would be required.
Reggie is an energetic adolescent, and with this can come a few undesirable habits such as jumping up.
He is working on keeping his feet on the floor but for Reggie, it is a work in progress.
He would be best suited to a home with older kids, over 12 years old.
Reggie is not a dog for the new owner and someone with previous experience with reactivity would be preferred.
Management is key for these dogs and you are welcome to speak to RSPCA staff about how to go about this.
Reggie’s adoption price of $350 includes his desexing, health check, microchip and up-to-date flea and worm treatments.
