Lovers of Sherlock Holmes and live theatre are in for a treat this week as Bundaberg Players Inc bring Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson to the main stage at the Playhouse Theatre.
“An Evening with Sherlock Holmes” is a 3 Act quirky and intriguing play written by Jules Tasca and directed by Trish Mears.
Trish said it will be a relaxed and fun night of live theatre.
“This ‘script in hand' rehearsed reading on the main stage will bring Sherlock Holmes, Dr Watson and friends (and foes) to life over a 40 year period,” Trish said.
“Our cast of 16 included some of the Playhouse Theatre’s most experienced actors, some newer to the stage and some who are returning to us.
“It will be different night of theatre, with the actors using scripts, some of the cast acting as walk-on crew in other Acts and 3 different sets of Sherlock Holmes, Dr Watson (who are all female) and the housekeeper.
“Being set over 40 years, we’re hoping audiences appreciate the self-contained stories in each Act and the “evolution” of each character.”
Tickets are $10 each, available from the box office from 6.30 pm, before the show starts this Thursday to Saturday (25 to 27 August) at 7.30 pm.
