Milbi Festival is set to take to the seas this year with the exclusive event Ocean Sounds: A Lady Musgrave Experience inviting guests to spend a day exploring the reef while enjoying fantastic food and entertainment.

The premium event offering, to be held on Saturday 29 October, will see ticket holders have exclusive access to Lady Musgrave HQ pontoon for the day amidst live music, cocktails and canapes while learning about the Great Barrier Reef ecosystem and sustainable tourism.

Guests will be greeted with a sparkling wine or beer on arrival and enjoy grazing tables of locally sourced cheese and charcuterie during the journey on luxury catamaran ‘Reef Empress' to Lady Musgrave Island.

Once arrived, guests will enjoy everything from live music, a two-and-a-half hour drinks package, the opportunity to learn about resident reef species and a fish feeding display until the journey home commences from 4 pm with a dessert grazing table.

General Manager Melissa Tree said Milbi Festival provided the opportunity for Lady Musgrave Experience to showcase its commitment to protecting the reef.

“The Milbi Festival event at Lady Musgrave Island will be a unique music, food, beverage and educational experience showcasing sustainable Great Barrier Reef eco-tourism accessible from Bundaberg,” Melissa said.

“We’re proud and excited to be involved in the Milbi Festival, an iconic community event that brings together arts, culture and environment promoting awareness, inclusivity, and community togetherness.

“We aim to make the reef accessible to the wider community, building awareness of the diverse ecosystem and its vulnerabilities, whilst promoting the values and protection of the reef through connection and experiences that are fun and educational.

“Our tours play an important role of providing excitement about the Great Barrier Reef but also educating guests about the environment we operate in, sustainable use and the little things we can all do to protect the Marine Park. “

Melissa said the event would see guests also gain a further understanding of the reef in a unique and fun way.

“The essence of the Milbi festival focusing on community, environment and experience aligns with our values and company philosophy, to provide safe, fun and educated experiences on the reef while protecting and promoting the values of the Great Barrier Reef through shared knowledge and experience.”
