The inaugural Lighthouse Country music festival is coming to Burnett Heads next April, set to feature big names including Lee Kernaghan, Adam Brand, Beccy Cole, and Casey Barnes.

The new festival will include everything from bucking bulls through to live music and was announced following the success of the recent Lighthouse Rock festival.

The brainchild of Gavin Hales, he said he saw the festival as a “great fit” for the region, bringing country to the coast.

“We wanted to run two music festivals about six months apart with a different genre, and as we already had Lighthouse Rock underway (in October) we thought, given the area that we are in and the rise of country music, we see it as a great fit,” Mr Hales said.

“We have also run rodeos in the past and thought the combination of both of these will be a great spectacle.”

Country star Adam Brand said, given the location and being a long weekend, it was the perfect festival to bring the whole family to.

“Burnett Heads near Bundy… you know what that means: it’s going to be a party!” he said.

“This is going to be big.

“Some huge names, heaps of incredible country music… it doesn’t get any better.”

With a combination of Australia’s best country acts and the Lighthouse Rodeo, Mr Hales said thousands of music fans would be drawn to the beautiful setting.

“They will be seeing some of the best Aussie acts over two days and, being an all-ages event, it will attract everyone from families to young and older audiences,” he said.

“Lighthouse Country is a two-day event with local and national acts, rodeo with barrel racing and bull riding, kids’ zone, food vans, multiple bars, and merchandise.”

Patrons who pre-register for the event will receive early access to tickets and a chance to win a Lighthouse Country Merchandise Pack and a Lady Musgrave Experience.

You can pre-register until 5 pm AEST Wednesday 26 October for early access to tickets at 8 am AEST on Thursday, with other patrons able to purchase from 9 am AEST Thursday.

Every ticket purchased goes in the draw for the chance to win a trip of a lifetime for two people on Big Cat Reality Fishing Charter, valued over $7000 (T&Cs apply).

  1. I was all ready to go to the Lighthouse Country Music Festival in April next year until I read that you were having a rodeo and bull riding. I consider both these activities cruel and I believe they should be banned. I thought we were becoming more humane in our treatment of animals, especially when it is just for the enjoyment of the people in the crowd. .
