Princess Parrots call Alexandra Park Zoo home.

Princess Parrots, Polytelis alexandrae, were named after Princess Alexandra of Denmark and fittingly, some are lucky enough to call Alexandra Park Zoo home.

These beautiful birds are believed to live for up to 30 years.

You can determine the male and female bird by looking at their eye colour.

Males have orange irises while females have brown irises.

*Please do not bring your pets into Alexandra Park Zoo for the health and safety of the zoo animals. Guide/Assistance dogs with proof are welcome.
