Carols by Glowstick event returns

Carols by Glowstick is back again at Elliott Heads State School.

The Elliott Heads Carols by Glowstick event is back again this year, with a number of exciting performances set to entertain for the night.

From 4.45 pm until 10 pm on Friday 2 December, the community is invited to celebrate Christmas at Elliott Heads State School.

The Elliott Coastal Musos are set to provide entertainment along with the Elliott Heads State School Choir and Miss Lee.

Tasty Street Food and Somewhere to Eat will be providing a range of food options, while a bar will also be run by the P and C, serving soft drink and lollies.

The event received a $1000 grant from Bundaberg Regional Council which is being used towards lighting and chairs to bring a festive vibe to the hall.

Elliott Heads State School Principal David Theobald said the students in the choir had been working hard all year with their teacher Michael Buckholz.

“This performance in particular will be special to the students as it will give them a chance to perform in front of their parents, grandparents and anyone special in the community that does not usually get to see them perform,” David said.

“All the students are local and have a close connection with Elliott Heads, so to finish off the year singing for the community will mean a lot to them. “

David said the support the school receives from the community doesn’t go unnoticed.

“The students and staff really value the input the community has with our school,” he said.

“This is a chance for the school to say thank you to all the community members that work side by side, such as the bowls club, rotary readers and Innes Park Bakery and other organisations who help our students throughout the year.

“I would encourage new members of the community or people who live out of town to come down and enjoy the celebration so they can see first-hand how special this collaboration is with the local community. “

The school will be drawing out raffles during the night with prizes ranging from Christmas hams to tickets to Australia Zoo.

Those attending are encouraged to bring a picnic rug and chair.

The event is free entry, and glow sticks can be purchased at the event or bring your own.
