Desert Rose bus to travel to Gin Gin

The Desert Rose bus will be stopping by in Gin Gin this week.

Services Australia’s Mobile Service Centre, the Desert Rose bus, is continuing to travel through the Bundaberg Region, offering locals easy access to Centrelink, Medicare and Department of Veterans’ Affairs services.

The bus will visit Gin Gin on Thursday 23 February, opposite the newsagency on Mulgrave Street from 9 am to 3 pm.

Mobile Services Centres are 20 tonne trucks operated by staff from Services Australia, providing regional and rural Australians with friendly face-to-face service and tailored support.

Staff on board this trip can help with:

  • Centrelink claims
  • Medicare registrations, and
  • Accessing online services.

Staff of the are on hand to give information, assistance and support to rural and regional residents.

This includes:

  • older Australians
  • families
  • students
  • job seekers
  • people with disability
  • carers
  • farmers
  • self employed people
  • veterans and their families – with general Department of Veterans’ Affairs enquiries.

All services will be offered with strict COVID-19 safety precautions in place.
