All members are asked to check the draws and continue to arrange games by mutual agreement. Priority is to be given to the Championship Singles & Pairs as they need to be completed by mid-June so our winners can contest the District Champion of Champions.

SOCIAL BOWLS EVENTS

Visitors are most welcome on all playing days. Entry sheets are at the club or phone the Club on 41514217 during opening hours. If you cannot get through to the club number regarding bowls, then phone 0401341378 or 0466539441.

Tuesday 2nd May: Open Pairs – Men’s, Ladies, Mixed. Names in by 12pm, green fees paid by 12.45pm for a 1 pm start. The Two Bowl Toucher Jackpot will be played after the game and is currently $440.

Wednesday 3rd May: ‘Scroungers’ Singles – this is a fun game of Singles similar to consistency singles where points are allocated to the 4 closest bowls to the jack. Games are played over 12 ends with no driving allowed. Names in by 6.15pm with games starting at 6.30pm. Green fees are $8 with 50 percent of the green fees being returned as prizemoney. All ability levels are welcome so come along for a fun night out.

Thursday 4th May: ‘Social Thursday’ Open Pairs. 3pm start, names by 2.30pm. $10 green fees. Games will finish at 5pm with two random lucky draws as prizes.

Thursday 4th May: Night Bowls – bowls start at 6.30pm, names in by 6pm. Bowl under lights and enjoy a fun filled night with a chance at the ‘Pick the Joker’ Jackpot which is currently $125+. Visitors and those that want to try bowls for the first time will be made to feel very welcome.

Friday 5th May: Open Pairs – Men’s, Ladies, Mixed. Names in by 12pm, green fees paid by 12.45pm for a 1 pm start. The Friday Jackpot will be $80.

Saturday 6th May: Open Pairs – Men’s, Ladies, Mixed. Names in by 12pm, green fees paid by 12.45pm for a 1 pm start.

COMING EVENTS

Tuesday 9th May – 50/50 Day where 50 percent of the green fees for the day will be returned as prize money.

CLUB NEWS 

Club opening hours are – Monday (Club closed), Tuesday 10am – 5.30pm, Wednesday 10am – 9pm, Thursday 11am – 9pm, Friday 10am – 9pm, Saturday 10am – 9pm (10pm for Functions) Sunday Bowls Days 9am – 2pm.

The Goose Club raffle will be drawn on Friday night at 7pm. The Member’s Draw was not won last week and will now be $110, so come along, have a meal and a few drinks with the chance to win some great cash and prizes.

Live entertainment for this Friday night the 5th May will be ‘The Other Bloke’ and the following Friday the 12th May, live music will be delivered by ‘Bradz Rock N Rhythm’ – Members, Guests, and Visitors are always welcome.

ANZAC Day:
We started the day with a wonderful well supported service in park for ANZAC Day and a lovely breakfast at the Club to follow.
Men were encouraged to play bowls in the afternoon in what is normally Ladies Day.
We also had a game in the knockout rounds of the Mens Pairs between Team Cornish and Team Winzar.

Thursday 27.04.2023:
Billy’s Day: Social bowls as well as the semi final in the Ladies Open Pairs:
Ladies first: Donna Smith and Lesley Christensen played in a very tough game against Marjo Greiner and Judy Stanley.
The wind wasn’t as strong as in previous days but was still a force to be reckoned with! (excuse the pun)
Donna and Lesley took the win in a game where the final score was in no way an indication of how hard the game really was.
All players should be happy with how they played and adjusted to the changing wind conditions!
The final of the Ladies Open Pairs will be coming up between:
Jane Herd-Evans and Fiona Dowling And Lesley Christensen and Donna Smith
Don’t have a date for you but it should be a cracker of a game, well worth coming down to the club to support the Ladies!

A big day on our greens today, we had the final of the District Mixed Pairs as well as four games of our competition Mixed Pairs and social bowlers.
The Mixed District Pairs:
14 year old Phoebe Russell and experienced Skip Keith Whalley from Burnett Bowl Club had a win over Terri Plowman and Graham Kath from Bargara Bowls Club.
Phoebe and Keith will now go to play off at zone level against the winners from Port Curtis and the Central QLD Districts.
