Pete Murray said he was honoured to be part of this year’s Milbi Festival and he promised his performance would leave everlasting memories with audience members.

Community members will have the opportunity to take in the Milbi Festival’s unforgettable riverside soiree Sunset Sounds, headlined by Australian musician Pete Murray, with tickets on sale today.

It’s the first event to be announced from the 10-day 2023 Milbi Festival program and tickets for Sunset Sounds will be available from noon.

With hit singles including ‘Feeler’, ‘So Beautiful’ and ‘Opportunity’ Pete has been nominated for a whopping 17 ARIA Awards and he is looking forward to singing these along the banks of the Burnett River at Riverfeast.

Pete said he was honoured to be part of this year’s Milbi Festival and he promised his performance would leave everlasting memories with audience members.

“It’s a big job headlining a festival as you have to make sure the crowd love their night out and leave with a huge smile on their face,” he said.

“This will only make the festival stronger the next year and keeps people coming back to see my show again and again also.”

It will be the third time Pete has performed in the Bundaberg Region and he was excited to return with his talented band.

“I will be playing all the big songs that everyone knows and hopefully we will have some massive singalongs, with a lot of laughs and funny moments,” Pete said.

“My band is also amazing! (Who are) seriously good players that will blow you away.

“Rob Thomas from Matchbox 20 watched every one of my shows when I supported him a few years ago.

“Rob and his band were totally blown away from how good my band was and they never missed a performance, which is a very rare thing to happen.

“Most international acts don’t watch the support act.”

Pete is member of the elite group of Australian artists to have sold over 1.2 million records, he will be accompanied by support acts Caravãna Sun, Indie-pop queen JaZZella and Chris Ah Gee for what will be an unforgettable riverside experience.

Food vendors will be on site and the bar will be open for this 18+ event.
