Nominations are now open for the 2023 Hinkler Innovation Award which recognises residents and businesses actively driving innovation in the region.
The prestigious award is part of the Hinkler Innovation Initiative, an annual event held each November which is a collaboration between Bundaberg Regional Council and Regional Business HQ and The Generator.
The nomination process takes just a few short minutes and closes on Friday 3 November.
Mayor Jack Dempsey said the Bundaberg Region had a proud history of innovation and it was important to continue to celebrate it.
“The achievements of pioneer aviator Bert Hinkler made him an innovator of his time and 100 years later he is still celebrated throughout the world,” Mayor Dempsey said.
“These awards recognise our modern day Bert Hinklers, those people ready to ensure their innovative ideas, entrepreneurial undertakings and disruptive thinking leaves a positive legacy that can outlast this century.
“We all know individuals, groups and businesses doing incredible things, so take the time to recognise them.”
