Olsen’s Corner Foodworks has been crowned the Best Deli in the state at the recent Australian United Retail (AUR) Store Excellence Awards 2023.
The results were announced at the AUR's 2023 National Retailer Conference in Melbourne last month, a gathering of independently owned supermarkets, convenience and liquor retailers.
Leading up to the conference, AUR support team members visited stores to conduct a thorough excellence check encompassing several factors such as standards, compliance, service and offerings.
Olsen’s Corner Foodworks owner Jane Brosnan said it was wonderful to hear they had been named the best in Queensland.
“Being picked as Deli of the Year is a significant achievement and a great honour for the team,” Jane said.
“It means that their hard work, dedication and commitment to excellence is being recognised and rewarded.”
Jane said they felt lucky to have such a remarkable team who consistently went above and beyond to deliver excellence.
“They are truly the best team we’ve ever had and their positivity and supportive relationships have created a harmonious work environment,” she said.
“This environment has fostered successful collaborations and sparked creativity, leading to outstanding results.”
Jane also acknowledged the contribution made by deli manager Lynette Jeffery.
“Our deli would not be complete without acknowledging the remarkable skills and dedication of our exceptional deli manager Lyn,” she said.
“She is truly one-of-a-kind, with unparalleled abilities and standards.
“However, what truly sets Lyn apart is her unwavering passion and enthusiasm for cooking and all things food related.
“She is always at the forefront of new trends, ingredients and cooking techniques, ensuring that our deli remains innovative and up to date.”
Jane said that, along strong teamwork, several factors contributed to the store’s success.
“Overall, what sets us apart is our commitment to quality, exceptional customer service, unique offerings, attention to detail and community involvement,” she said.
“We continuously strive to exceed expectations and provide an outstanding deli experience for our customers.”
