Avid little library readers and their families will be in for a treat with an engaging series of VOX audio books available for loan.
Schools and libraries across the globe have embraced VOX Books since their induction in 2015.
They are a powerful tool to encourage children in engaging with books to develop reading skills needed for success in school and in life.
Making learning and literacy development fun, VOX Books combine outstanding picture books with audio recordings which capture the young reader’s attention.
The permanently attached VOX reader transforms an ordinary print book into an all-in-one read along.
Children simply push a button to listen and read without the need for a computer, tablet, or CD.
Bundaberg Regional Council Arts, Culture and Events portfolio spokesperson Cr John Learmonth said online books didn’t always to appeal to the younger reader.
“The VOX audio books appeal to children as they can touch and interact as the story is read aloud to them,” Cr Learmonth said.
“The VOX audio books captivate children by offering an engaging, interactive experience where they can touch and interact with the book while enjoying the story being narrated aloud.
“The combination of tactile, symbolic and auditory learning is a huge advantage of the VOX books.
“As the books are an all-in-one item, it is a simple process for families to borrow them from the libraries.”
Over 50 different titles of the hard covered VOX picture books, will be available to be loaned at one per library card, from 23 January at the Bundaberg, Gin Gin and Childers libraries.
