Garden Grooves is an event that offers entertainment and unity, bringing the community together to raise breast cancer awareness and funds for the McGrath Foundation.

In a tapestry of pink and black Garden Grooves will sweep through Bundaberg on June 29 from 4 pm until late at HSG At The Gardens.

Spearheaded by Helen Rimmington of Signature Hair and presented in partnership with Heart and Soul Gourmet, Mark Lavender Music, Brave Brothers, United Culture, Axis Global Co Pty Ltd and GetAQueen.com this event promises a night of unity, entertainment, and philanthropy.

Helen Rimmington said as a breast cancer survivor, Garden Grooves holds profound significance for her.

“Having faced the struggles and challenges of this disease firsthand, I know how crucial it is to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research and support services, regardless of gender, our event will be a celebration of life, love and community spirit,” Helen said.

“Although many would assume breast cancer only affects women, 1% of those who are diagnosed with breast cancer are men, with the number continuing to rise.

“So it is with great joy that we also raise awareness for men who are battling breast cancer in partnership with our friends at Brave Brothers.”

Brave Brothers advocates for the greater awareness of all cancers but more so the support avenues that men are unaware of.

Breast cancer is an area where men feel more stigmatised and may not reach out for supports – ‘McGrath is for men too’ is the message that Garden Grooves want to get out to the local community.

Brave Brothers David Facer said members of his family and friends both male and female had been affected by breast cancer highlighting the great work that McGrath Foundation nurses do in our community.

“Many cases of male breast cancer get undetected due to men not being aware of the importance of checking themselves,” David said.

Garden Grooves extends a warm invitation to families of all backgrounds to join in solidarity for this noble cause and revel in the talents of local rising stars in music.

Renowned musician Mark Lavender will grace the stage with his captivating melodies and heartfelt lyrics.

Stepping into the spotlight for the first time in Bundaberg for this event will be the sensational drag queen, Kara Zmatiq (pronounced ‘Charismatic’), as seen on Australia’s Got Talent.

Kara’s electrifying performances promise to dazzle and entertain guests of all ages, adding a touch of glamour.

United Culture’s own Patrick Glanville will keep the energy soaring as the whimsical and vivacious MC, ensuring an evening filled with laughter, dancing, and cherished memories.

Garden Grooves represents the culmination of a series of events dedicated to promoting breast cancer awareness and fundraising for the McGrath Foundation in Bundaberg.

The aim is to educate both men and women about their health options and to emphasize the support and care available through the McGrath Foundation.

Every guest donning pink or black is eligible to win prizes generously donated by local businesses and more.

Garden Grooves event aims to create a legacy of compassion, unity, and hope as we rally behind the McGrath Foundation, supporting Australians battling breast cancer, regardless of gender.
