SOCIAL BOWLS RESULTS

Thursday Night 16th May: Winners: John Snr & Kevin. ‘Pick the Joker’ Jackpot was not won and will now be $362+ next Thursday.
Friday 17th May: Visit by 40 Sunshine Coast social bowlers. Winners: Lorna Plunkett, John Bawden, Roy. 1st Runners Up: Carol Schmeider, Alf Schmeider, Dave Carson. 2nd Runners Up: Alan Vinegrad, Cal Toft, Wayne Watson. 1st Sportsman: Marg Lucy, Alan Fisk, Peter Logie. 2nd Sportsman: Pat Baddeley, Greg Jackson, Neil Krome. A big Thank you to all Burnett members that turned up to play against the visitors as it was a great social afternoon where the greens, the weather and fellowship was at its best.

COMPETITION
Members are asked to check the Competition draws and start arranging games by mutual agreement where possible. Competitions can now be played on a Sunday afternoon on QRI Bowls days. The next two QRI Sundays are Sunday May 26th & Sunday 2nd June.

The official Competition Call is always on the Club Noticeboard, so please check the board whenever you are at the Club.
Any issues with the above Competition Call, please see the Games Director – Keith Whalley. Members, please try to arrange any other Competition games by mutual agreement.
Just a reminder that when you are playing in Club Competitions, you must be in full Club uniform which includes shorts/trousers.

SOCIAL BOWLS EVENTS

Tuesday 21st May: Open Pairs – Men’s, Ladies, Mixed. Names in by 12pm, green fees paid by 12.30pm for a 1 pm start.
Wednesday 22nd May: ‘Scroungers’ Singles – this is a fun game of Singles similar to consistency singles where points are allocated to the 4 closest bowls to the jack. Games are played over 12 ends with no driving allowed. Names in by 6.15pm with games starting at 6.30pm. Green fees are $10 with 50 percent of the green fees being returned as prize money. All ability levels are welcome so come along for a fun night out.
Thursday 23rd May: Night Bowls – bowls start at 6.30pm, names in by 6pm. Bowl under lights and enjoy a fun filled night with a chance at the ‘Pick the Joker’ Jackpot which will be $362+ this week. Visitors and those that want to try bowls for the first time will be made to feel very welcome.
Friday 24th May: Open Pairs – Men’s, Ladies, Mixed. Names in by 12pm, green fees paid by 12.30pm for a 1 pm start.
Saturday 25th May: Open Pairs – Men’s, Ladies, Mixed. Names in by 12pm, green fees paid by 12.30pm for a 1 pm start.
Sunday 26th May: Open Pairs – Men’s, Ladies, Mixed. Names in by 12pm, green fees paid by 12.30pm for a 1 pm start.

CLUB NEWS
Please Note: NEW Club opening hours are as follows – Monday (Club closed), Tuesday 11am – 5.30pm, Wednesday 11.30am – 9pm, Thursday 4.30pm – 9pm, Friday 11am – 9.30pm, Saturday 11am – 6pm (10pm for Functions) Sunday Bowls Days 9am – 2pm.
The Goose Club raffle will be drawn on Friday night 24th May at 7pm – Tickets are $1 each and can be purchased during the week from the Bar staff or on Friday night. There are 15 great prizes to be won – you need to be in it to win it! Proceeds from the raffle help to support your Club.
The Member’s Draw will also be held on Friday night 24th May and stands at $1010, so come along, have a meal and a few drinks with the chance to win some great cash and prizes.
There will be live entertainment on Friday 24th May presented by Keely Ellen and the following Friday 31st May entertainment will be provided by ‘Bradz Rock N Rhythm’. Members, Guests, and Visitors are always welcome.

Weather really cooled down today, still lovely in the sunshine, no wind, however player numbers were down! Think there’s a few sooks among us, stayed home under their rugs! Only one winning rink today: Robbie Hannah Linda Hannah The Saturday morning coaching course is going well thanks to Robbie and Lynda and their gang of helpers! At least three new bowlers set to join the ranks of Woodgate bowlers! If you think you’d like to come and try, Saturday morning is for you!
