Local projects and builders have been awarded accolades in the 2024 Queensland Housing and Construction Awards.

The Bundaberg Brewed Drinks build by Hutchinson builders, and local business JRZ Homes were celebrated at the recent event which saw regional winners of this year’s Master Builders Awards competing for state-wide recognition.

Now in its 38th year, the event is regarded as the jewel in the crown of the industry’s annual calendar, and this year was no exception with a sell-out crowd walking the red carpet at The Star Brisbane on Saturday 19 October.

The Bundaberg Brewed Drinks build was awarded in the Construction category for Commercial / Industrial Building over $50 million – Hutchinson Builders (Wide Bay Burnett).

The new integrated headquarters is a cutting edge facility for Bundaberg and encompasses brewing, warehousing, offices, and logistics, all designed with future growth in mind.

In the Housing Awards category locals JRZ Homes were awarded Display Home up to $400,000 – for Cove (Wide Bay Burnett).

Nestled within a desirable coastal retirement village, Cove presents a stunning 2-bedroom display home that seamlessly blends liveability, design, and innovation

Director Jesse Zielke said the recognition was testament to a hardworking team.

“It was amazing for our business and whole team of employees, subcontractors and suppliers to win this housing award on behalf of our client Ingenia communities,” he said.

“The home really suits the amazing lifestyle our clients enjoy in the region and has proved very popular.

“Our team has put in a big effort the last few years and it was very nice to be recognised in this way.”

Master Builders CEO Paul Bidwell congratulated all of the winners.

“The seamless finishes, custom-made features, the marrying of past and present, along with the use of sustainable building materials and integration of technology, are nothing short of marvellous – and we couldn’t be prouder,” he said.

“Each of these projects and people play a special role in shaping the fabric of their regions and putting our state on the map as arguably boasting the best in the business, no matter what challenges confront them.

“Congratulations to all our 2024 Queensland Housing and Construction Awards winners. We can’t wait to see what our 2025 program brings.”
