Anzac Day services across the region

This year the Bundaberg Civic Service will be held in Buss Park.

Anzac Day services will be held across the Bundaberg Region on 25 April, with all the details now available in Bundaberg Regional Council’s 2025 Anzac Day booklet.

RSL sub-branches and community groups will hold dawn and civic services in the region’s towns and communities, and Council will again host a Civic Service with support from the Bundaberg RSL Sub Branch.

Following local tradition, Bundaberg Civic Service Guests of Honour, representing all serving and ex-service members, are invited to take the salute accompanied by the Mayor at the official dais.

Mayor Helen Blackburn said the parade would march along Bourbong Street, past the Cenotaph to Buss Park where Guests of Honour Sergeant Leon Hart and Senior Sergeant Cameron Schneider would take the salute.

“The theme for this year’s Civic Service is ‘They served our country, now they serve our community’,” Mayor Blackburn said.

“We acknowledge our local heroes who took up public service after serving in defence of our nation.

“The values instilled in these proud Australians during their service remained with them for life.”

Mayor Blackburn said this year’s Bundaberg Civic Service would be held in Buss Park to accommodate the crowd expected.

“More than a century on from the Anzac troops’ ill-fated landing at Gallipoli in 1915, the community continues to gather in large numbers to honour and remember those who served,” she said.

“We want to provide an opportunity for everyone to attend, and holding the Civic Service at Buss Park gives us the space to do so without compromising the ongoing work to restore Anzac Park.”

Each year, Council creates a free digital program and print booklet to help the community find a local service to commemorate the day.

The booklet provides information on each service being held, the order of services, associated events, hymns and lyrics.

The 2025 digital booklet is available for download here and print booklets will be available at local services.
