An innovative play about the work of William Shakespeare will be brought to the Playhouse stage in June.

Director Di Wills said it will be a treat for Shakespeare lovers, as well as fans of live theatre.

“Many people don’t realise that we would have lost half of Shakespeare’s plays forever, after his death”, Di said.

“It was two friends of the Bard, Henry Condell and John Heminges, who were determined to compile the First Folio and preserve the words that shaped their lives.

“The Book of Will tells the story of how they had to borrow, beg and band together to get it done”.

Amidst the noise and colour of Elizabethan London, The Book of Will by Lauren Gunderson, brings to the Playhouse stage an unforgettable true story of love, loss, and laughter, and sheds new light on a man you may think you know.
