The Bundaberg Career and Business Expo committee get together to plan for this year’s event.

The region’s youth will have ample opportunity to peruse career and job opportunities when the Bundaberg Career and Business Expo comes to town.

Bundaberg Regional Council is once again part of the working committee that puts together the expo, providing a one-stop-shop for all things education and employment.

Council’s Youth Development Officer Andrea Bax said she had been part of the committee for 10 years and this year, event goers could expect something a little different.

“The expo is taking on a new challenge in 2019 and will be working with the Business Enterprise Centre to present the Bundaberg Careers and Business Showcase on Thursday, 23 May, 2019 at the Bundaberg Multiplex,” Ms Bax said.

“This will provide even more information and a bigger expo overall.”

The expo committee is made of staff representing the region’s state high schools, CQUniversity, TAFE, IMPACT Community Services, East Coast Apprenticeships, Headspace, IWC and the NDS.

With a change of name and new challenges ahead, the group have not lost sight of why they do what they do.

“It is about showing young people the range of education and employment opportunities that are available to them in developing their career pathways,” Ms Bax said.

More information will be released soon on how you can showcase your industry or service directly to young people.
