The Bundaberg Invitational XI defeated the Bulls Masters in an entertaining T20 contest at Salter Oval on Saturday.

The Bulls Masters scored 180 off their 20 overs and the local team replied with 3/181 from 17 overs.

Former Queensland Sheffield Shield batsman and Australian one-day international player Jimmy Maher top scored for the Bulls Masters with 75, retired.

Sean Stuchbery led the way for the Bundaberg team, scoring a half-century from 41 balls.

Kye Leggett took an amazing catch for the home side and Jarrod Laycock hit the winning six.

A good crowd rocked up to see the game despite uncertain weather.

The Bulls Masters foster and develop cricket throughout the whole of Queensland, utilising retired state cricketers to provide community support and assist charities along the way.

Past players in Bundaberg for the match include former Australia representatives Carl Rackemann, Martin Kent and Darren Lehmann, along with contemporary Big Bash superstar Chris Lynn who disappointed with eight runs.
