The #lovebundy mobile app is off to a flying start, with nearly 700 downloads so far showing that local shoppers love a bargain.

The app provides users access to exclusive offers and information from participating #lovebundy traders in the Bundaberg Region.

GPS targeting sends offers to people who have the app installed or they can browse the app themselves at any time.

#lovebundy is an initiative of Bundaberg Regional Council and local businesses to encourage people to shop locally and build community pride.

There have been nearly 8000 posts to Instagram using the #lovebundy hashtag.

“It's great to see local traders and shoppers supporting this Council initiative,” she said.

“We know local businesses face challenges from online competition.

“The #lovebundy campaign and mobile app is a positive way to address some of these challenges by using innovation to fight back.”

The Club Hotel has had the most redemptions while the most-viewed offer is from Cutting Crew for Men.

Cutting Crew for Men hair stylist Karley Jacobsen said the app was a talking point with customers.

“We really like the app; it's a great idea for business and we've had a few people come and use it,” she said.

“There are a lot of attractive offers on there.”

New features to look out for in coming weeks include competitions, free items, gift vouchers and local news.
