The Bundaberg Health and Wellness Expo will be held on Sunday, 7 April at the Shalom Sports Stadium alongside the regular Shalom markets.

The expo was born from the idea of connecting the community with health and wellbeing experts in the Bundaberg Region.

Event organisers Kellie Dexter and Wendy Lockwood, naturopaths at Zen on Elliott, believe it will give people an opportunity to engage with health professionals, learn about a wide range of different treatment options, and participate in physical movement demonstrations.

“With approximately 40 health practitioners from a wide range of professions in attendance there will definitely be something for everyone,” Kellie said.

“Throughout the day there will be a number of guest speakers presenting information about a range of health topics, from the importance of detoxification to the impacts of stress on your health.

“There will also be physical movement demonstrations, including yoga, personal training, and Qi Jong.

“Although there is no cost to participate, bookings are essential for these demonstrations.”

Bookings can made through the Bundaberg Health and Wellness Facebook page and then selecting “events”.

Upon entry, attendees will be given an expo passport, which lists many activities that they are able to engage in.

When they have completed an activity they can have it marked off. As they leave, they can submit the completed passport into a draw to win numerous prizes that have been kindly donated by participating exhibitors.

There are also expo bags with generous offers and samples for the first 250 people to complete the passport.

St John's Lutheran Primary School Year 6 class will also be running a raffle on the day for an amazing basket of health goodies.

Tickets will be $1 each and the prize will be drawn at 1.45pm on the day. All funds raised will go towards their Year 6 camp to Canberra in October.

“We thank the Bundaberg and Wide Bay community for supporting this event, and we look forward to meeting you all on the day,” Kellie said.

Opening times for the expo are 7am to 2pm, with free entry.
