Bundaberg Sailing Club posted this interesting historical snippet on Facebook:
This was Teddy and Freda Olsen’s fishing shack on the river bank at the site of the Bundaberg Sailing Club.
Remnants of the posts can be found near the groyne wall. The shack was removed not long after we relocated down to the site (1982).
Freda would often bring a feed of fresh fish up to the club.
The Olsens were great supporters of the club as licencees of the Club Hotel where we used to run raffles on a Friday afternoon, the proceeds going to the Junior Boat Subsidy Committee who subsidised new junior class boats.
Is this bridge ever going to be finished?
