There’s a brand new home for all of the region’s events at whatsonbundaberg.com.au, the modern take on Council’s community events website.

Bundaberg Regional Council Community and Cultural Services spokeswoman Cr Judy Peters encouraged the region’s community groups to list their events on the site.

“What’s on Bundaberg is a fantastic resource not only for community groups but for residents and visitors as well,” Cr Peters said.

“It is free to use for events right throughout the region for groups and organisations that may not have any other online avenue to promote their event.

“Events listed on the site are also advertised through the What’s on Facebook page, which is followed by more than 4000 people in the region specifically looking for events.

“We know that residents and visitors use these pages as an avenue to discover what’s coming up on the region’s events calendar.”

Cr Peters said the updated website continued to deliver the same service as the former site with increased functionality.

“The former website was well overdue for an upgrade to bring it in to the modern age.

“The modern new design offers a better user experience through its listing style and is also mobile friendly meaning you can now more easily access the latest events information on the go!”

Event organisers can also find resources on the page to assist in organising and promoting their events.

“Stallholders and performers interested in participating in Council events can also find all of the relevant information and register their interest on the What’s on webpage.”

A full list of terms and conditions are available on the website, which include the requirement for all listed events to be held within the Bundaberg Regional Council area.

Cr Peters said whatsonbundaberg.com.au replaced bundabergregionevents.com.au but the old URL would continue to redirect while residents adjusted to the name change.
