An Open Coworking Day will provide prospective entrepreneurs and innovators insight into the positives of working alongside like-minded people when it's held at The Generator Bundaberg this Friday, 6 September 2019.

The Generator's community manager Brett Bearham said the unique space was ideal for anyone interested in innovation, freelancing, startups or those looking to step out on their own.

“It's perfect for anyone wanting to get out of their home office for a day or two — for people who have been ‘heads down’ for too long and need to get out and connect with some other people in the community,” he said.

Bring your laptop and work essentials along.

“You’ll check in on arrival with our community manager who will show you casual desks before you join us for a 10am tour,” he said.

“There will be space to work, meet and chat with others who already cowork at The Generator.

“We have kitchen facilities to utilise, so feel free to bring your lunch and you’ll have access to our The Generator wifi while you’re here.”

Open Coworking Day: what to expect

For those wishing to attend, Brett said a laptop or any other work essentials, plus enthusiasm to connect with others was all that was needed on the day.

“A message to the novice coworker is that coworking is all about exactly that — working alongside others,” he said.

“Coworking spaces share many things; work space, eating space, hangout space, food, ideas and connections.

“The idea is to be around other people, so say hi and introduce yourself, everyone is very approachable!

“If this sounds exciting and something you’d be interested in being a part of, come and join us.”

If you can't make this event, Brett said there would be other opportunities to explore The Generator space.

“On the first Friday of every month you are welcome to come in and see what it’s like coworking alongside other entrepreneurs, freelancers, indie hackers and creatives,” he said.

“This is a no-strings-attached way to see how you can benefit from surrounding yourself by like-minded individuals.

“To ensure everyone has a great experience, we do limit the number of people who can attend, so best to register early and secure your spot.”
