BIG EVENT: Last year's CLS Ability Ball in Bundaberg was well attended.

Excitement is building as the Bundaberg Ability Ball is now officially sold out.

A record 550 tickets have been sold, making this the largest Ability Ball to date.

“It's great to see this event grow each year,” event organiser and Community Lifestyle Support's Trevor Sands said.

“It is about everyone coming together regardless of ability and having a great night out.”

The Ability Ball is designed to bring the entire community together to celebrate people’s abilities.

While the benefits of providing a genuinely inclusive opportunity for people with disability to dress up and celebrate diversity are significant, the community awareness benefits of such an event are enormously powerful.

Community Lifestyle Support: Ability Ball special guests

CLS believe that by providing people with disability, the general public, local businesses and the community sector with an opportunity to engage in a positive shared experience, they have found an ideal way to promote inclusion and understanding.

“The highlight of the evening are without a doubt the Home and Away Stars and the crowning of the 2019 Ability Ball King and Queen,” Trevor said.

“This year the guests include Sophie Dillman, Patrick O’Conner and Emily Weir.

“Australia’s Favourite Son’s will be performing and will no doubt have the dance floor full as they kick off their INXS, ACDC and Cold Chisel Show.

“Guest appearances will also feature Hayley Wheeler and Matt Farthing.”

Trevor said the inclusive event is the highlight of the year for not only people with disability but the support workers and community members who enjoy a great night out.
