A new golf-side unit complex has been approved for development within the Coral Cove Resort.

Bundaberg Regional Council planning and development spokesman Cr Ross Sommerfeld said the development was exciting news for the popular seaside destination.

“This major unit development will offer fantastic lifestyle opportunities, located along our stunning coastline and offering golf course views,” Cr Sommerfeld said.

“The 28 units approved will offer a range of accommodation options in fourplex, triplex and duplex configurations.

“There will also be two and three-bedroom unit options with private courtyard areas provided at the back of each home.”

The application was for a material change of use and reconfiguring a lot over land at Chantelle Circuit and accessible via Pebble Beach Drive.

The site is surrounded to the north, west and south by the Coral Cove Golf Course. Neighbouring developments include a small lot residential gated community, part of the Coral Cove Residential Estate.

“The applicant also proposes to include a communal area with pool and barbecue facilities,” Cr Sommerfeld said.

“A minimum of two on-site car parking spaces will be provided per unit with an additional 15 visitor car parking spaces.”

Cr Sommerfeld said forward planning as part of Council’s coastal sewerage strategy was facilitating development right along the coastline, including this Coral Cove unit development.

“Preliminary approval for this development was granted in 2012 however the project had not progressed because there was not sufficient sewerage infrastructure to service the proposed development.

“Now that those issues have been resolved the developer was able to relodge and is now in a position to commence the development.”
