National project management firm APP has announced the first stage of the Pathology Laboratory refurbishment at Bundaberg Hospital has been completed.

The State Government allocated $3 million towards the upgrade in the June 2019 Budget.

Brisbane-based builder Quadric was awarded the construction tender, with work to be completed in two stages.

“With the head office based in Brisbane, Quadric is one of the leading commercial construction companies to deliver projects for a range of high profile clients from commercial office fitout, complex structural rebuilds, heritage refurbishments to building extensions and shop fitouts,” the company says on its website.

APP was established in 1989 as a project management company in Sydney to the building and construction sector.

“APP is project managing the refurbishment of the Bundaberg Hospital’s pathology laboratory, as well as providing superintendence services,” the company said on its website.

“The pathology facility services the busy regional hospital with around-the-clock capability.

“Pathology Queensland will relocate some of its existing equipment from the current labs and take the opportunity to install and commission new equipment before demolition work starts on the old lab.

“Quadric is delivering the works and has been working closely with the hospital engineering team to identify critical infrastructure needs prior to switchboard and plant room upgrades.

“The second stage of the construction works will extend the newly completed first stage, including refurbishment of the existing lift and installation of a new roof.”
