November is a month of non-stop entertainment at the Moncrieff Entertainment Centre with movies, activities and even a festival or two on the event list.

From a spell-binding performance by Grand Illusionist Cosentino to an up-beat show from The Kings of Country Rock and the Milbi and Cofluence Festivals in between, there is certainly something for the whole family to enjoy.

Good Boys Film Fundraiser
Friday, 1 November from 6pm

Just how bad can one day get?

The creative minds behind Superbad, Pineapple Express and Sausage Party take on sixth grade hard in the outrageous comedy, Good Boys.

After being invited to his first kissing party, 12-year-old Max (Room's Jacob Tremblay) is panicking because he doesn't know how to kiss.

This film fundraiser is in aid of Bundaberg North State School P&C Association.

Film commences at 7pm with light refreshments from 6pm.

Beneath Hill 60 – Free Community Movie
Wednesday, 6 November at 10am

Beneath Hill 60 is an Australian feature film set underneath the trenches of World War One.

This never-before-told Australian story takes place during 1916 and 1917 IN Belgium, when Queensland miner Captain Oliver Woodward (played by Brendan Cowell) – undertrained and never having faced hostile fire before – finds himself on the Western Front the bloodiest battlefield in history.

A terrifying true story beginning in 1916 when the blood and carnage of the Great War rampaged mercilessly across Europe. A deadly game of cat-and-mouse is played out 30 metres below the trenches, as a small platoon of Australian tunnellers prepares to ignite the largest amount of explosive ever collected under German lines.Save the date! This two-hour stage spectacular captures the sounds and excitement of Americas country rock icons.

Featuring 30 timeless rock and roll classics, that defined The Eagles and Creedence Clearwater Revival as 1970’s superstars.

The Kings of Country Rock Tour, with the Cajun country string quartet is much more than a concert; it’s the ultimate rock experience.

The cast of 11 multi-talented & internationally respected musicians bring to life a stage show unlike any other.

So get aboard Proud Mary, as we set sail down the dark desert highway of the 1970’s featuring the platinum hits of The Eagles’ and Creedence Clearwater Revival’s.

Advaita – Confluence Festival

New Delhi-based band Advaita, formed in 2004, has already performed 300 concerts in India and abroad, cut two successful albums, and won several awards and accolades.

Advaita is one of India’s leading musical acts. The band is credited with creating a new contemporary Indian sound, hailed by music-lovers as well as critics as truly original and progressive.

The journey of a new-born turtle is much like our own. Survival is the key to begin with – to reach our potential, we have to find the courage to make that journey.

Join hundreds of school students and award-winning Brisbane ensemble Topology who take you on this immersive journey through music.

Muses Trio celebrate music composed by women, performed by women, and focus on bringing this relatively unknown, yet vastly deserving collection of works to the stage and enthralled audiences.

Muses Trio celebrates Clara Schumann ‘s 200th anniversary of birth and CD launch with a performance of spoken word, diary extracts and her personal piano trio fragmented and reconstructed with music by female composers inspired by her legacy: pianist, virtuoso, composer, wife to a very unstable genius, mother to eight.

NTL Small Island – Cinema Presentation – Milbi Festival

A company of 40 actors take to the stage of the National Theatre in London in this timely and moving story.

Andrea Levy’s Orange Prize-winning novel Small Island comes to life in an epic new theatre adaptation.

Experience the play in cinemas, filmed live on stage as part of National Theatre Live’s 10th birthday.

Small Island embarks on a journey from Jamaica to Britain, through the Second World War to 1948 – the year the HMT Empire Windrush docked at Tilbury, England.

The play follows three intricately connected stories. Hortense yearns for a new life away from rural Jamaica, Gilbert dreams of becoming a lawyer, and Queenie longs to escape her Lincolnshire roots.

Hope and humanity meet stubborn reality as the play traces the tangled history of Jamaica and the UK.

Mini Film Festival – Milbi Festival
Sunday, 24 November

Take a day out to immerse yourself in three films about the incredible environment we live in and some of the challenges we face.

Undermined will play first in the morning with a long intermission for lunch, then Rubber Jellyfish and 2040 run together, hosted by students from Kalkie State School.

Join us for a panel run by these young people from our region.

Milbi Festival
15 to 24 November

A brand new festival has been developed to mark the beginning of the turtle season.

Milbi Festival
Bundaberg Tourism general manager Katherine Reid, Mayor Jack Dempsey, Gidarjil Development Corporation managing director Kerry Blackman and Cr Judy Peters join Flip the Reading Turtle to announce Milbi Festival.

Milbi Festival launched March 2019 with the signing of a MOU between Bundaberg Regional Council, Bundaberg Tourism and Gidarjil Development Corporation.

The festival will celebrate our region’s iconic turtle encounters, connecting to salt water and fresh water country and encompassing the broader and complimentary themes of environmental care, connection to the Southern Great Barrier Reef, water catchments and local storytelling, making the festival unique to this region.

Through an arts and culture framework, the festival will provide a range of opportunities for artists, arts and community organisations to get involved.

Turtles, arts, culture and Indigenous heritage are the foundation pillars for the festival that will celebrate the unique identity, spirit and livability of the Bundaberg Region.

From Gin Gin to Childers through to Bundaberg and our regional ocean shores, all areas of the region will be activated with the delivery of unique events, workshops, exhibitions, film screenings and performances .
