The team at Water Street Kitchen have delivered a sweet surprise to Bundaberg Hospital staff to help keep their spirits high during the Coronavirus pandemic.
Owners Alex and Jen Cameron said 150 glazed donuts were created and delivered to hard-working staff this week in order to treat the team who were keeping the community safe.
“We wanted to give back to the community after they have showed so much support to us over our last two years of opening and this is a great way to do that – who doesn’t love donuts?” Alex said.
“We all need as much positivity all around us while we are in these times of crisis – also it's good to get perspective on your own life by doing these acts of kindness to other people – it does as much good for your soul as it does for others.”
The couple said the sweet surprise was a huge hit at the hospital.
“We saw a lot of happy photos and messages from doctors, nurses and medical staff who all loved the surprise,” Alex said.
While the popular Walkervale eatery has been closed to dine-in customers since Coronavirus restrictions came into play, Alex said the team were still working hard to provide the community with delicious meals.
“We are offering our menu as takeaway for lunch and dinner and breakfast on Friday and Saturday,” he said.
“We can also deliver.

Alex said for all the sweet-toothed customers out there, a donut a day could be the best solution for a pick-me-up.
“We will also be rolling donuts every day with some special daily flavours but also the regular Nutella and original glazed favourites,” he said.
