Bundaberg Region Mayor Jack Dempsey is encouraging residents to support local traders and help kickstart the regional economy.

Mayor Dempsey today unveiled social media artwork to spread the message: “Buy Bundy Region”.

“Everyone can play a part in the post-COVID recovery,” he said.

“Governments have dug deep with subsidies and stimulus programs. Now everyone can play their part by supporting local small business.

“Unfortunately many traders had to close down or operate with reduced hours and other restrictions.

“As things gradually return to normal we should support these businesses as much as we can.”

Mayor Dempsey said people can use and share Facebook profile frames and banners which spread the “Buy Bundy Region” message.

“By sharing these images we’re advertising the Bundaberg Region and supporting local small businesses, reminding everyone to buy local whenever they can.”
