Bundaberg Regional Council has reviewed its Corporate Plan, the strategic document that guides the vision and values of the organisation, and is now seeking community feedback.

The living document outlines Council’s vision “to build Australia’s best regional community” and defines its advocacy priorities and core roles.

The Corporate Plan was last updated in 2019 and was recently reviewed by the newly elected Council to reflect its aspirations for the community, organisation and region.

CEO Steve Johnston said while there had been minimal changes made to the new document currently available for community feedback, it was important to review it on a regular basis.

“The values outlined in the Corporate Plan are reflected in every action of our more than 800 employees, so it’s vitally important that we get it right,” Mr Johnston said.

“We believe this document delivers the right outcomes for our region and incorporates values that our community and our organisation can take pride in.

“The Corporate Plan outlines how Council will continue to provide essential services to our community and drive positive change and growth, with a focus on innovation and efficiency.”

Mr Johnston said one of the changes made to the document was to more clearly define Council’s vision.

“When we talk about building Australia’s best regional community, we’re not just referring to being an innovative, enthusiastic, stable and transparent Council,” he said.

“We believe our region can offer the best in lifestyle and liveability and provide opportunities in employment, education, investment and growth.”

The 2021 – 2026 Corporate Plan is available for review and community feedback on Council's website.

Community consultation closes on Monday April 12.
