Four Council managed attractions have been recognised as Tripadvisor 2021 Travelers’ Choice Awards winners based on the reviews of visitors to the region.
Alexandra Park Zoo, the Bundaberg Botanic Gardens, Hinkler Hall of Aviation and the Hummock Lookout were all named in the top 10 per cent of attractions worldwide based on visitor reviews from the past 12 months.
The Travelers' Choice Awards celebrates businesses and places that consistently deliver fantastic experiences to travellers from around the globe.
Mayor Jack Dempsey said it was a wonderful achievement and cemented the fact that the region had plenty of offerings for residents and visitors alike to enjoy.
“As challenging as the past year was, Alexandra Park Zoo, The Hummock, Hinkler Hall of Aviation and Bundaberg Botanic Gardens stood out by continuously delighting people who were visiting our region,” he said.
“From our smart and savvy dingoes at the zoo, the beautiful views that can be seen from the top of what once was an active volcano, the fascinating plants and lagoons that make up our Botanic Gardens and the interesting information and displays featured on Bert Hinkler, there are so many diverse experiences to discover.”

For each of the four venues and locations, a flood of positive reviews have been recorded on the TripAdvisor site.
“A great informative and interactive display celebrating Bert Hinkler. Well worth the visit no matter the age group,” one reviewer wrote about the Hinkler all of Aviation.
“You won't be disappointed. Small, but interesting, with clean surrounds and happy inhabitants. Beautiful location,” another reviewer commented about Alexandra Park Zoo.
Bundaberg shines in Travelers' Choice Awards
Kanika Soni, Chief Commercial Officer at Tripadvisor, congratulated the Bundaberg Region for its recent success in the awards.
