Mingle in magic of the sea at Milbi Gala Ball

Milbi Gala Ball
The upcoming Milbi Ball, to be held on 6 November, will have an underwater theme and raise funds for the Sea Turtle Alliance.

Ball gowns and bow ties will meld with the creatures of the deep for the upcoming Milbi Gala Ball as an underwater theme transports guests to an extravagant underwater oasis.

Glamour and elegance will be the dress code for the night, with canapes, a two-course meal, drinks and entertainment to feature as part of the sea soiree.

Council’s Arts, Culture and Events portfolio spokesperson Cr John Learmonth said the charity event would not only be a chance for the community to dress up for an exquisite evening, it would also raise funds for the Sea Turtle Alliance.

“The Milbi Gala Ball is a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness for the amazing work done to care for our turtles and their environment,” Cr Learmonth said.

“The inclusion of a fundraising Gala Ball in this year’s festival means our community will have an opportunity to connect and have a night of fun while supporting a cause that is very important to our region.

“Guests will be invited to participate in a fundraising raffle and auction held in support of the Sea Turtle Alliance and the important work the group does to protect our Milbi.”

There will be plenty of entertainment on the night, including comedian and 2014 Deadly Funny National Grand Final winner Steph Tisdell and six-piece band Funky Monkeys.

Comedian Steph Tisdell said she was looking forward to coming to Bundaberg to share in the joy of making people laugh.

“What I’m most looking forward to about coming to Bundaberg is the absolute privilege of getting people to laugh and come together as a community in an audience setting,” Steph said.

“COVID has meant socialising has changed, but laughter never does.

“Considering all the studies that have been done show that we’re more likely to laugh in a group setting, the pleasure of being a part of that is the best!”

Tickets for Milbi Festival 2021 went on sale at midday today, 6 September. View the full program and book now here.
