Upgrades to keep community cool in Coronation Hall

Coronation Hall
Coronation Hall is situated in Walkervale and offers a space for community groups to gather.

A new air conditioning system and solar panels will keep visitors to the Coronation Hall cool during the warmer weather with works recently completed to the building.

Coronation Hall is located at 71 High Street in Walkervale and is one of Bundaberg Regional Council's many community venues available for hire.

“Coronation Hall provides a fantastic space for our community groups to meet and is Council's most popular hired facility,” Community Services portfolio spokesperson Cr Tracey McPhee said.

“It is used every single day by community groups who utilise the building for social interactions and activities to keep themselves on the go.”

Cr McPhee said air-conditioning and solar panels were recently added to the hall after requests from the community.

“The groups themselves expressed concern that in the middle of summer the hall was very hot and they found it difficult to undertake their activities in the heat,” she said.

“These works are a great addition to the building and I’m sure will be very much enjoyed by community members now that summer is on the way.”

Coronation Hall features a small stage, kitchen with an adjoining servery and can cater to a capacity of 120 people.

The air-conditioning and solar panel upgrades were funded through the Works 4 Queensland program.
