The community is being invited to have their say on a planned upgrade to Wallaville Park

Park facilities in Wallaville are planned for an upgrade and Bundaberg Regional Council is keen to hear from the community to find out what equipment would benefit the area.

Parks and Gardens portfolio spokesperson Cr Wayne Honor said, as part of the project, removal of the Burnett Street bike course would be considered in order to focus on the redevelopment of the Wallaville Park playground.

“Council would like to update this area to provide new equipment designed for all ages,” he said.

“This could include small play decks for toddlers, swings, or even some multifunctional goal posts for teenagers.

“The goal is to provide a space to suit a range of age groups and families.”

Cr Honor said Council was encouraging the community to complete a survey to help identify what features should be included in the area.

He said Council had previously engaged in community consultation with residents at a number of locations on 23 March.

“Council would like the community to consider types of recreational activities and equipment they might like to have included in this project,” he said.

“The more feedback received, the more we can develop this area into an inviting recreation space for all to enjoy.”

To provide your feedback on what upgrades you would like to see, complete the survey on the Our Bundaberg Region website here.

The survey is now open and will close at midnight on 26 April 2022.
