Work is currently underway to return a much-loved “clown swing” back to Boreham Park for the community to enjoy.
The swing was a permanent fixture for many years before it was removed from the park in 2021 when major upgrades were taking place.
Since then, it has been undergoing refurbishment and kept in storage, waiting for reinstallation.
Bundaberg Regional Council divisional representative Cr John Learmonth said he had received plenty of feedback from the community about the return of the swing.
“This clown swing is well loved in the community and there will be many children and adults alike happy to see its return,” he said.
“I have heard many stories from residents about how they grew up playing on the swing and now it will be the next generation’s turn to make some more great memories with this retro piece of equipment.
The swing operates as a spinning system, with two seats hanging on either side of the retro clown face exterior.
Its installation is currently taking place and once complete, will be located to the left of the flying fox in Boreham Park.
The clown swing will be available for community use by Monday 8 May, weather permitting.
The reinstallation will not impact access to the other play areas.
