Friends and families can enjoy the tranquil atmosphere of Vintner’s Secret Vineyard during this year’s Childers Festival with the Picnic in the Vines event.

Vintner’s Secret Vineyard owners Ed Murray and Marianne Lethbridge will ensure guests are entertained with lawn games dotted throughout the gardens while listening to the sounds of the Band of the 1st Regiment throughout the day.

The Band of the 1st Regiment has been an integral part of the Australian Army since its inception in 1949.

Renowned for its versatility and musicianship, it comprises of 32 army reserve members, all of whom are highly skilled musicians and soldiers who perform across different genres including rock, pop, jazz, classical and traditional military music.

Picnic in the Vines guests will have the opportunity sip fine wine and enjoy either their own picnic or prepurchase a delicious hamper made at the venue.

Bundaberg Regional Council Arts, Culture and Events portfolio spokesperson Cr John Learmonth said Picnic in the Vines would join a superb list of popular festivities with tickets to events already selling like hot cakes.

“A Night of Burlesque at the Paragon and Hill of Promise Long Table Dinner both sold out within a day of tickets going on sale,” Cr Learmonth said.

“It’s really great to see new events like Picnic in the Vines join the impressive Childers Festival line up.

“This event will be a leisurely day of fine wine, lawn games and music for all to enjoy.

“Childers Festival will not only give people a chance to enjoy some of the best features in the Childers area but also provide the perfect opportunity to relax with family and friends at Picnic in the Vines.”
