Bundaberg Regional Council is connecting creative locals with like-minded businesses at ‘Connecting Creatives: the Value of Arts for Business’ event on Tuesday 26 September.

The networking-style event will discuss how creative collaborations between artists, artisans, artworkers and businesses can lead to mutually beneficial outcomes.

Aimed at both creative artists and businesspeople, the event will provide opportunities for making new connections between the arts and business industries.

Held at Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery (BRAG) in conjunction with Central Queensland Regional Art Services Network (CQRASN), attendees will hear from guest panellists about how creative partnerships can be formed.

The panel discussion will be hosted by Trudie Leigo of CQRASN and will feature:

  • Dion Taylor from HSG at the Gardens,
  • Suzy Evans from Oodies Café,
  • Tunja Cottier formerly of The Book Boutique, and
  • Jolene Watson, RADF Officer, Bundaberg Regional Council.

The panel will offer insights on how businesses have successfully incorporated arts into their business models.

Council’s Arts, Culture and Events portfolio spokesperson Councillor John Learmonth said the event would be a great opportunity for creative people in the community to expand their network.

“I encourage anyone who is wondering how to approach a business to share their artform, or any business who wants to include local artisans in their business mode, to attend the event,” Cr Learmonth said.

“The Connecting Creatives events are a fantastic way for the community to learn about different industries and outlets for their creative talents.”

Bundaberg Regional Council in association with CQRASN delivers Connecting Creatives events throughout the year.
